Ajith's Next Flim (50th film) with Venkat Prabhu

Brushing aside rumours about his 50th flick with Gautham Vasudev Menon, top Kollywood star Ajith Kumar is teaming up with young filmmaker Venkat Prabhu, known for his offbeat themes.

Industry sources revealed that Ajith has indeed chosen Venkat Prabhu for his golden jubilee flick, which is interestingly titled Mangattha. Apparently, after tasting success with gangster flicks like Billa, the ‘King of Openings’ wanted a similar genre for his milestone flick.

Venkat Prabhu, who was already on Ajith’s list, floored him with an inspiring gangster script. The movie is to be produced by Dayanidhi Alagiri of the Cloud Nine banner.

After having chosen Venkat, sources say talks are on with a top actress who proved lucky for a versatile star in his recently released film. There is also a buzz that Tollywood star Nagarjuna will also be a part of the project. All the other details are being worked out. An official announcement is expected soon.

In the meantime, Gautham’s cop story project with Ajith has taken a back seat and it is learnt that it could be the Asal star’s 51st venture.

No quitting, only big strike from now on for Thala

Remember, the famous punch dialogue in Polladhavan uttered by Kishore ‘Avanukku Bayamillai, Avanalla Appadiyae Vittadanum’…. Ya! It’s so relevant with our real life superstar Ajith Kumar. He has no fears and his straightforwardness, honesty has made him so great across the global arenas. When some stupid personalities are creating publicities using his name, ‘Thala’ stands bold enough to confirm that nothing was wrong about his speech. So does the entire Kollywood and some political parties now. Yesterday, Congress Leader EVKS Elangovan stated that his entire party will render more support to the actor. Of course, with Superstar Rajnikanth himself making sure that he still ardently salutes Ajith for his speech.
The other buzz was about rumors about ‘Thala’ quitting his filmdom. But that’s not true and he will continue acting in more films as well take part in races. We hear it from closer sources that Ajith Kumar’s next film with Gowtham Menon maybe shot in Great Britain. The reason revealed by them is the fact that ‘Thala’ has plans to take part in ‘Formula-2’ race to be held in London. So, if it all happens to be true, then it will be a double Dhamaka for all his fans. Anyways, the final discussion about this is slated to be held by end of this month.
If you still doubt about Thala not quitting filmdom, here’s great news that he will soon start his discussions about 51st film. Of course, we know the details about complete cast and crew, but we cannot furnish it until official announcements are made.
Meanwhile, there were rumors that Vijay had met Ajith Kumar and seemingly extended his support. But nothing like that has happened so far and as of now, it will be an individual strike by Thala that’ll surely knockdown the cheap publicity mongers…

is Ajith ready for police Story??

After seeing ultimate star Ajith at the Aasal audio launch, speculations are spreading like wildfire about his next movie with ace director Gautham Menon.

Well, the star's stylish crew cut raised many eyebrows, with many guessing whether it could be a police story. With Gautam directing, this could be a good guess.

Remember, Gautam's police stories Kaakka Kaakka with Suriya and Vettayaadu Vilayaadu with Kamal Haasan were huge box office hits.

Is Ajith ready to join the list? Let's wait for the official announcement.

Times of India: The Final Combo

It is almost confirmed that Gautham Menon will be directing Ultimate Star Ajith in his 50th film, that will be produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri. It clearly means that Vishnuvardhan and Venkat Prabhu — who were in the race to direct the star — have lost out.

Gautham was supposed to have collaborated with producers Prabhu and Ramkumar for his film with Ajith. But, the project fell through due to difference of opinion between the director and the hero. Now, insiders claim that what clinched the deal for Gautham is his association wih producer Alagiri, with whom he shares a good rapport after their last hit together, Vaaranam Aayiram.

Though AR Rahman’s name is being tossed around as the music director, his international commitments have made him too busy. Tamannaah is the front runner to be Ajith’s heroine in the film, which will start rolling after Ajith’s Asal releases in February. The buzz is that the film will be an edge-of-the-seat-thriller, with all essential commercial ingredients.

Ajith decides on Vishnuvardhan?

Ajith seems to have decided on Vishnuvardhan to direct his next film. If sources are to be believed, it is neither Venkat Prabhu nor Gautham Menon, as reported by the media a few days ago. Apparently, Ajith is not convinced with the storylines narrated to him. And when Vishnuvardhan came up with his script, the actor decided to lap it up.

For now, it looks like Vishnuvardhan is the man that will wield the megaphone for Ajith’s landmark film. Official confirmation are expected soon.

Finally Ajith picks Venkat Prabhu...

Finally sources say that he has decided on it. There was a big competition and confusion in choosing the director of Ajith’s next project as it is his 50th film.
A source in the know has confirmed that the actor and the director had made a private meeting recently and everything regarding the project is shaping-up well. The film will be an action comedy, with all elements to entertain his die-hard fans of Thala, they say.
It’s noteworthy that many directors were vying to direct the Ultimate star and now Venkat Prabhu has got the golden ticket. If sources are to be believed, the film will be produced by Dayanidhi Alagiri under Cloud Nine Productions.
At the same time, it is also said Producer T Siva of Amma Creations, who had produced 'Saroja', had already given a token advance to Venkat Prabhu to make a film for him.
So, birdies say either Dayanidhi Alagiri or Siva has to come forward to walk out of the project to give it a final shape.
We hear that the movie will start rolling soon after Ajith’s ‘Asal’ and Venkat Prabhu’s ‘Goa’ are released. But nothing has so far been confirmed from the makers of the film yet and they are expected to be tight-lipped until at least ‘Asal’ is released.

Venkat prabhu is directing Ajith next Film...

Though there were several directors in the race to direct Ajith’s 50th film, the opportunity has been bagged by Venkat Prabhu, we hear. A few months ago there were reports that Ajith expressed his interest to work with the director. Things apparently started taking shape soon after an informal meet between the director and the actor.
There is a strong buzz in Kollywood that Venkat Prabhu has narrated a story to Ajith and the Ultimate Star has consented to star in it. It is said that the project would take off soon after Ajith completes his Asal and Venkat Prabhu is off with Goa.

Now that his Asal is fast being wrapped up, Ajith seems to be making plans for his next movie that also happens to be his 50th movie. We hear that Suresh Balaji, who produced the Vishnuvardhan-directed smash hit Billa, will produce this one. The movie will, we also learn, eventually be sold to Sun Pictures for distribution.

Meanwhile, the Charan-directed Asal is gearing up for a January 2010 release. Asal has Sameera Reddy and Bhavana playing Ajith’s female leads and a possible release date is fixed as January 26th.
