Ajith's upcoming 49th movie is Asal, directed by Saran and produced by Ramkumar of Sivaji Productions.
The shooting of Asal is fastly nearing completion. December 18 has been officially announced as the last day of shooting of Asal.
At first, it was expected that Asal would be released on Pongal. But later, news came that it will hit the screens only on Republic day.
It has confirmed that the production house has decided to postpone the release further to February 5, 2010. When enquired, we got the reasons that, as many movies are hitting the screens on Pongal, it would be difficult for Asal to get good theatres, if it released within 10 days after Pongal. Also, the Asal team can finely process the movie, if they have more time.
The audio of Asal is scheduled on third week of December. Its almost confirmed that the Asal audio might be released on Dec 23rd. However, there may be some changes.
